Notes & Combos
-Primite Engine: Primite really lives up to the hype. The engine adds the necessary recursion that I felt Blue-Eyes was missing in the last season (Season 39) and makes the 60c variant possible. I hope Konami continues expanding this engine further to allow Blue-Eyes to keep up with future Metas.
-Bystial Magnamhut: I decided to drop the rest of the Bystial engine on my climb to Master 1. They are good cards that helped me get to Master 5, but I wanted to lessen the number of darks in my deck just in case I had to use purge from the hand.
-Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon: Towards the end of my climb I decided to end my board more often with just double Spirits. This way I can be more reactive to my opponent’s card effects on their turn. Also, this allows Azure Dragon effects to last into my turn as well.
-Dragon Spirt of White (DSOW): DSOW makes other cards almost a "Cosmic Cyclone" on demand. It is not that hard to pull off the banishing effect twice in one turn if you have the right cards. Also, DSOW is considered a normal monster in the hand and Graveyard, so it can be used to enable Primite cards as needed.
-Primite Drillbeam: I went all in on Drillbeam by running x3 to increase my chances of having one already in my starting hand regardless of if I have Beryl in play or not. Also, I have experienced cases where my opponent instant scoop when seeing the second Drillbeam after working so hard in banishing the first one.
-Dark Hole Dragon (DHD) / Dark Hole: DHD is here to take advantage of the constant non-target monster destruction effects to get another 3k/Level 8/Dragon on the field on its own besides Jet Dragon. This way you have an easier time to perform OTKs, XYZ Summon Indigo, and Link summon Seals. At the minimum it is discard fodder for Wishes if you find DHD in your starting hand. FYI, DHD can't be destroyed by card effects as well.
-Extra Deck: For this season I decided to commit to climbing without using the Crimson Dragon Engine and I didn't miss it at all. Also, I didn't find running multiple Spirit/Seal/Ultimate wasteful too. Yet, I could see someone cutting 1 of each to add more variety. Meanwhile Moonlight/Indigo/Azure/Typhon won me duels one way or another.
Replays
-I went through several different tech cards before settling on this deck list. So, you will see other cards not in the deck in the recordings from my climb. This deck represents the final version of my tweaks. Duels were marked if it had some unique gameplay/tech to it as well.
