Notes & Combos
Who's back with a write up this guy. I skipped much of season 39, as it just felt awful to play in. This season, I've taken a more scientific approach to the Master I run. This deck has won 47.86% of the coin tossess and gone first 53.04% of the time. This discrepancy is largely due to how many people were running Tenpai until the last pack release. Tenpai has virtually disappeared during the second half of my data collection. The win rate of various other Chimera decks I've used (experimenting with different hand traps, Azimina, board breakers) was about 43%. This particular deck jumped up to 61% and has pushed me into Master V. But this list is probably not enough to get to Master 1. If I do get there, I'll post the decklist that does it!
So let's talk about some of the tech choices
Queen Azamina - It's a free special summon when used as fusion material. It'll also help form Chaos Angel with Elzette.
Dadga and Artifact Scythe - This combo just breaks people's will to play. Scythe wins games.
Bystials - Not quite as helpful as you'd imagine against blue eyes, they may not make the cut.
Mirror Sword Knight and Big Winged Berfomet - Sword Knight is a negation magnet, you don't want to use it until you've seen Ash and Imperm/Veiler resolve. And you never want to draw Berfomet...
Where's Master Tao? He's gone. I've other things to send to the graveyard now, and he's less useful to draw.
The game plan is to end on Silhohatte Rabbit, Caesar, and a Chimera Fusion and Diabellze, with a backrow of Silhohatte Trick and Artifact Scythe. The first spell that gets set down, pop artifact and the spell with Diabellze. There's no way to stop artifact from resurrecting.
