Notes & Combos

Overall, an average experience Definitely not the best format, but still manageable.

I played 71 games from Diamond 5 to Master 5, achieving an overall win rate of approximately 55%. The ladder is heavily flooded with Dracotail, so you need to prepare your deck accordingly—especially against versions that can play during your turn. The problem of Traptrix was never to play going 1st but now it is. Setting aside cards like Maxx “C”, Fuwalos, or Droll, if you get interrupted on turn one but still manage to put some cards on the field, Dracotail can completely dismantle those. Stopping Arthalion’s effect is absolutely crucial. The only card I found that can reliably deal with this on your own turn while already having a card on the field is Forbidden Droplet..

Some Notes:

  • Nibiru: A good decision to cut this card in favor of Forbidden Droplet.
  • Fuwalos: A decent card. While Orcust, Ryzeal, and Mitsurugi are still present, they are not prevalent enough this season to justify running it. With the dominance of Dracotail and Odion, increasing the number of starters and extenders proved to be far more effective.
  • Retaliating C: The new shining horse against Dracotail/Mitsurugi/Branded/White Forest
  • Ghost Belle: BEST CARD OF THE FORMAT
  • Protos and everything related: Still devastating against Mitsurugi, Maliss, and Tenpai, but due to their declining representation, it may be reasonable to cut it.
  • Ty-Phon: Usage rate: 2 out of 71 games
  • RR Chain Coils: We really need better Link-4/5 options.

Future testing:

Dominus Purge and Songs of the Dominators — both are theoretically very strong in this format and worth further testing.

Nothing particularly stellar this season, but you can check out some older replays where I destroy established boards, play around certain handtraps or having fun with diffrent Traptrix variantes mostly Combo or Heavy-Trap-Builds.
