Since Branded Fusion going to 1, it was hard to justify playing this version, the Albaz to BF ratio was pretty bad and Retribution being your only easy way to have follow-up was tough, as you otherwise need to add Kitt and polute more the extra deck, or play a heavy Branded build which always feels like worse Branded.

Now with BF at 2 it feels much better and you have room in the extra for links and Chaos Angel to help you go 2nd.

Going first the deck is very strong, you have many ways to extend, but have to keep in mind that you can't link summon the same turn you use BF, so milling Dark over Roar is almost the right play.

The main downsides are going 2nd with Branded cards and not being able to either use Links and Chaos Angel or BF.

I'll rate it as the 3rd best way to play ThunDra. I think BF is a lot better than Horus or Millenium, as it's a strong card on its own while it can guarantee to find your engine.

I had Branded in Red and Guardian Chimera in my first games but it really feels unnecessary to play those.
