Notes & Combos
Okay. Wow...
Hello, and welcome to another yap-session for every decklist I post on this website-AHHHHHHHHHH!
Safe to say, this run was not my greatest. I was alternating between Maliss and Mathmech @Ignister, the former since I enjoy slightly de-powered meta decks. Mathmech finished the climb from Diamond 3-1, though it was certainly not a smooth climb. I deranked from D3-D2 on three separate occasions, which definitely was not delightful. Still, I endured and toiled anyway. Here are some changes from my previous decklist, designed for the growing threats of the meta:
-3 D.D. Crow: This card was actually pretty solid. A monster hand trap with the ability to banish any cards in your opponent's graveyard is useful for decks such as Fiendsmith, Orcust, Mitsurugi, Tearlaments, Gem-Knight, and (sometimes) Maliss; these were all decks I commonly faced. On top of that, it can be used as link material for Salamangreat Almiraj.
-3 Droll and Lock Bird: This card was once a two-of in my deck, but three seems mandatory against the prevalent Mitsurugi deck and its variants, especially Ryzeal. However, this card does hurt us quite a bit when used by the opposition, rendering our boards very lackluster. It can facilitate lines against Maxx C and Fuwalos, of course. Speaking of which:
-3 Mulcharmy Fuwalos: Due to the forbidden list, I actually have the UR to craft a lot of missing staples/engine! Fuwalos is a very strong card if resolved, and you are likely to get a draw or more with it, deterring opponents into making half-boards or nothing at all. Cyberse decks can often gas through half-boards and OTK, so cards like this are very nice to have.
-2 Parallel eXceed: I wanted to splash more engine due to adding more hand-traps, so I opted for Parallel eXceed once again. Even though it loses to a Detonator or Impulse, the ability to summon two level 4 Cyberse bodies off of one link summon bridges into both Wicckid and Mathmech engines.
-(Removed): The Micro Coder package, while really fun to search Conflict, felt unnecessary and bricky when going second. One A.I. Connect (formerly two) seemed adequate since we search it anyway, and I wanted to keep the 40-43 card mark.
Overall, this climb was TOUGH! Easily, the most times I have gotten Maxx C'd and Fuwalos'd, or completely blown out. Can't say it was just luck, since my sequencing was terrible from tilt or negligence, though. Those new decks do not play around; that is all I can say.
