Notes & Combos
This was one tough, but rewarding climb to Duelist LVMax with something outside of the mainstream for once. Labrynth wasn't working out in the higher levels, so Isolde Turn Lock got me to Duelist Level Max in no time at all.
I had to be extra cautious with my plays as hand traps, Nibiru, and Bystials are all over the place.
- Keeping Linkuriboh out of the Graveyard unless I control a LV1 monster was key to dodging Bystials.
- Isolde typically stops at 4 summons quite comfortably with the turn lock intact.
- People don't fully understand how the deck works as they oftentimes use hand traps on the wrong cards/effects leaving me ready to either continue unphased, or use extenders to go full combo anyways.
- Knightmare Cerberus having a left-facing link arrow is just a fantastic compliment for Isolde's lower diagonal arrows to follow up with I:P and Avramax respectively to mess with the opponent's summons (if any).
- Apollousa was a last minute addition to the deck, replacing Flame Swordsman as the second target for Ready Fusion. If only there was a Normal Monster that's Fire-Attribute and Warrior for the sake of Renaud's Special Summon effect, but it is what it is.
